Holyrood Nursery Media City offers a wide range of nursery activities and extras to enrich every child’s experience at nursery and to support busy parents.
Our nursery is now an All Inclusive nursery, meaning that we provide all meals, snacks, nappies, wipes and cows milk for your convenience. Our meals and snacks are sourced locally and prepared and cooked freshly by our on-site nursery chef. We cater for all dietary requirements and allergies. Settling in Sessions
Our nursery offers settling in sessions. Parents can bring their child for a couple of hours first, gradually introducing the child to a new environment. Settling in sessions are aimed at helping your child to adapt to their new surroundings and become more familiar with the staff and other children.
Eco Schools is the largest sustainable schools programme in the world and is designed to encourage action on sustainable development education issues. We love getting involved in Eco Schools projects and learning about how to protect the environment. We are proud to hold the Eco School Green Flag.
We offer regular trips to CBeebies and participate in Story & Singing Time as well as testing out new programmes and looking around the studio at BBC.
During yoga our children learn different poses and stretches while exploring their imagination. Children learn about physical activity, turn taking and participation while having lots of fun.
Our children are given the opportunity to explore another language through weekly French classes which are included in our nursery fees. Our French teacher educates our children through engaging activities and songs.
Physical Development Stars is a programme that supports children’s movement for a minimum of three hours per day in line with government guidelines. Our practitioners look at ways everyday routines and activities can be adapted to encourage fine and gross motor physical development in a fun way, limiting the time that children are sitting down.
Little Legends Football
Little Legends Footbal gives children something to look forward to each week and is great way for parents to enrol their child in an extra-curricular activity without an additional time investment. Classes are around 45 minutes long and are filled with football fun for your Little Legend, all classes are indoors.
Our nursery tablets and Smartboards offer exciting and stimulating learning experiences tailored to challenge and engage little ones.
Our nursery enjoys great ties with our local community and we are often out and about visiting local sights and getting involved in events. We have built up a link with our local care home, and the children enjoy visiting to sing to the older generation.
We celebrate Christmas by putting on a wonderful Christmas show for friends and family each year. There's always much excitement in preparing for the show as we learn songs and organise our special dress ups.
We celebrate the big move to primary school with a special graduation ceremony each year—caps, gowns, the works!
Caring for animals can be a very calming and relaxing experience for children as well as an opportunity to assess risk. This provides many vital learning opportunities and skills that supports children's transition to school and adult life. Children name, feed and care for nursery pets. We currently look after three chickens, two rabbits, and two pigs.
We celebrate various festivals and events throughout the year with Christmas shows, Easter Parades and Chrinese New Year Celebrations.There's always much excitement in preparing for these as children get involved with learning songs, organising special dress ups and much more.
Taking part in fundraising activities helps children to learn about others that are less fortunate than themselves and understand how we can help them. Fundraising events are good fun and are a great way to get children, families and communities together. We are currently fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Each year we celebrate Easter with a special Easter Parade - enjoyed by all our little ones!

In recognition that education begins in the home, we are fully committed to a partnership approach with parents. Parents are kept up to date with monthly newsletters and parent’s evenings twice a year. Parents are also able to keep up to date with activities going on in the nursery by following our social media accounts; Media City Twitter and Holyrood Group Facebook.
